National Youth Arts Festival & Cape Town Eisteddfod

Thanks to our corporate sponsor, and the occasional private donations, the students will be able to compete in the National Youth Arts Festival in Montagu for the sixth time this year, and in the Cape Town Eisteddfod, for the second time.

Annual Variety Show

We also organised our fifth Annual Variety Show, in conjunction with other local arts’ upliftment programmes in September last year.

Funding needed

Obviously, more funding is needed to reach higher and better goals. As a school for the performing arts, HYPAT intends on becoming the main attraction for the youth of the area.

Previous initiatives

An outreach program was operational at Boys’ Town and in Macassar from September 2011 to August 2012 and again from April 2013 to March 2015. These, unfortunately came to an end due to diminished interest from the powers-that be and the participating youngsters.

Drama was taught every school day in Lwandle, but our fellow Trustee, Linda Mkaza, had to relocate to Cape Town.
